kick, baby, kick

Normally, I wouldn't post anything so soon, but....Harriet called at 7:47 this morning to wish Chris a Happy 30th birthday today and I am so glad she did. I'm home "sick" today and when she called, it woke me up. So, as I was laying there, I am almost 100% positive I felt the baby kick! :) YAY!!! It was like a big, but gentle "whoooossh". So, then, of course, I laid there some more thinking "Ok, is that really what that was? Do it again, do it again!" Then, it happened two more times...and by about 8:15, when I realized it probably wasn't going to happen anymore, I decided to get up. But, I'm pretty sure that was what it was! :) Hee hee, yay!

moving right along

Today we had our check up with Dr. Garas. It's always a nervewracking thing for me. I feel like it's a check-off list, where I can check one more healthy month off the list. But, everything looks great. The baby's heartbeat was about 160, which apparently is good. Our next appointment is in two weeks and is for the big sonogram, where we could find out the sex. Anyway...here's the next picture of my belly. It feels like within the past two weeks, I've really started showing more.
In the midst of the pregnancy, (in typical Kim and Chris fashion) we've decided to finish our kitchen. So, last weekend we ("we" being Chris) tore up the linoleum and sanded the cabinet doors. Now we're just waiting until we can find a spare minute to paint the cabinets and lay the floors. In the meantime, here's a picture of our kitchen.

rilee elizabeth

After much discussion, we've decided on a name if the baby is a girl...Rilee Elizabeth. The '-lee' will be after my grandmother, Marilee and Elizabeth is after my great aunt and Chris' grandmother.

This was a big couple of weeks for us...not only did we decide on a girl's name, but we also ordered our nursery bedding. Again, after much (much) discussion/debate, etc. we chose a pattern we think will be just perfect for us! Here's a picture, although we've got cherry wood furniture...not white. But we do have yellow walls, so at least you get the idea.

three months

We thought it would be kinda interesting to watch how Kim's tummy grows. So, here's a picture of her stomach at three months.
