updates...

Ok, so it's been a month or so...and I'm a bit behind. In the last couple of months, we were able to take Warren to the river house...which he loved. There's so much for him to explore!! And he had a great time with Hook and Eye (who wouldn't?).

He has moved to a new preschool, which we are very pleased with. He's definitely gotten adjusted and is just testing his teachers' limits. We're working on "channeling" some of his energy. :)

He continues to stay kinda small (in fact, he's still in 9 month shorts) and sick. His doctor says he's outgrown his breathing treatment, so now we're trying an inhaler and Singulair. We're also experimenting to see if some of his troubles might be Kelsey. So, Harriet is keeping Kelsey for the next month or so. So far, no change (although our floors are much, much cleaner)!!

And, he has a new best friend....our neighbor, Sarah! He just loves Sarah! She'll come over and play with him, and he just thinks she's the best!

olympic swimmer?

So, we spent some time in our little kiddie pool in our backyard and got some pretty cute pictures. Look at the determination in his eyes. (If you can see them behind the goggles.)

future president?

We just got back from our trip to Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. After a great flight, but a very long car ride, we made it to Pennsylvania. Saturday we had a lovely service to scatter the ashes of Chris' grandmother. After spending a couple of days in Pennsylvania, we traveled to DC and spent time seeing the busy city. We're quite sure Warren has his eyes on the White House. He even gave the donkey and elephant in the Ronald Reagan Building a hug...since he's not sure, yet, which party he'll side with. And...he got to run on the lawn of the capital! In the pictures, Warren is the little speck you see. We also visited the National Zoo, which was incredible. He loved seeing all the animals....and loved the misters along the walk. After long days, we all relaxed in the room....while Warren zoned out with the Wiggles on Harriet's portable DVD.

updates

Once again, it's been awhile! So, I'll try and give a brief update. Uncle Pj and Aunt Amy left for China at the end of May. They introduced him to granola, which he loves!! In fact, in one of the videos, Uncle Pj even had Warren dancing for some. Before they left, we took the WoRM swimming (yes, this is his bathing suite from last year....it still fits), complete with sunscreen in his hair.

He also has a new fascination with sunglasses. I think he likes to be like Daddy, as in the first picture below. In the second picture below, he's sporting Mimi's sunglasses. And every Saturday, we eat lunch at Mimi's. He LOVES to round everyone up and put us in the utility room, while he just laughs. (See the third video below) What fools we all are!

As all worms do, our little WoRM LOVES to play outside. In fact, "outside" was his first word. One day, outside, he followed Kelsey around. Kelsey went behind a bush to get some shade, so of course, Warren followed her, complete with ball in hand. Kelsey lapped up some water, so Warren lapped up some water. (I should tell you that I stopped him as soon as I got a good picture.)
He also likes to mow the yard with Daddy!

He loves Kelsey! (Watch the second video below....I'm not so sure how much Kelsey loves Warren.)

A man and his best friend.

Somewhere along the line, Warren has learned to round everyone up in the utility room at Mimi's house. He just loves it!

running free

This past weekend, we let Warren "run free" in Memaw and Pops' backyard while we squirted him with the hose. I'm sure all those old neighbors loved it! What a thrill! Wouldn't it be nice if we were all that carefree of our bodies! Of course we took lots of pictures, but had to edit them to add to the site.

snip snip....

Warren had his first haircut today! Mr. Spurlock cut his hair. Mr. Spurlock lives next door to Memaw and Pops and also gave Pj his first haircut, almost 28 years ago.

Warren did great. He got a little uneasy with the razor, but did super (see the videos below)! He looks so much older already.

the great outdoors

As all worms do, our WoRM loves to play outside. He loves the outdoors, and can't wait for Uncle Pj to help him fix his racket. He's learning to drive and has realized that sometimes he has to wait for traffic. Eventually, he does have to come inside...which he does not love quite as much.

easter

So, again, we're a bit behind, but, better late than never. Warren had his first Easter egg hunts this year at Aunt Gretchen's house and at home.

the park...anyone?

Since we finally got a new digital camera, Daddy has been going a little overboard with pictures...but at least he's taking some! We took WoRM to the park today after school. It was A LOT of fun!

raise a reader

I think Warren's favorite toy right now....is books! What more could a teacher ask for??

(That is until they put him to sleep.)

finally....

Well, it's only been about three months since I've updated this. As you can imagine, a lot has happened in three short months. (Three months is a lot in the life of an almost 15 month old.)

We started by having a wonderful Christmas! Santa brought the WoRM a little climb and slide jungle gym. He loves it, but like anything else, lasts about 2 minutes and then is ready for something else. As for opening gifts....not so much. He opened one and I think that was it.

Then, in January, he finally got tubes put in both ears! And, wow...what a difference that has made!! The procedure is literally 6 minutes long, and the differences could honestly be seen that day. The audiologist said Warren had significant hearing loss in his left ear and some in his right ear, so this really was kind of a necessity. But, little did Mommy and Daddy know what we were missing. He's now making all kinds of sounds. He's definitely got "Dada" down (he even knows that "Dada's" truck is black). And we're moving on to "mama" and "ball" and "book". His favorite thing is to run into the kitchen and just yell "Da" and listen for the echo. But, the neatest thing so far was the day we got home from the procedure. I was feeding him lunch, with the radio on, like every other day. But, as soon as it came on, he stopped and just froze. His eyes moved around and then he turned his head...it was like he had never heard it before. And then we went outside and he heard an airplane for the first time. It's truly incredible! We're so blessed!!

Other than that....he loves playing at the park (as you'll see), brushing his teeth, driving daddy's truck, finally sitting forward in his car seat....and he's learned this new little pucker face (not sure where we got that from). We go to the park about two or three times a week. And, he's slowly breaking himself from his pacifier...wow, what a blessing that is! Anyway....I hope that's a decent update for everyone. Til next time!
