Can you believe Warren will already be two months old on Monday? We took him for his two month check-up today....and we were armed with a list of questions.
Dr. Cornett said it is colic, colic, colic. He then went on to say there is a really good book, that he is reading right now, called "Happiest Baby on the Block" that he would recommend. Turns out….I happen to be reading it right now also…and the methods in the book work!! He also said we could try something called Baby Bliss Gripe water, which you can get at health food stores. Some mothers swear by it, others say it doesn't work. Other than that…he said the good news is that colic doesn't normally last longer than three months of age. So, we've got one month left!
Warren also got his shots. Three shots and one oral vaccine. He took em like a little man! Hardly let out a peep…until the car ride home. But, as soon as I picked him up (he was soooo sweaty), he fell asleep. Bless his heart!
Dr. Cornett said that right now, Warren is probably still trying to figure out what life is like outside the womb and the sleeping patterns we mentioned are completely normal and will pretty much work themselves out. As for the tensing of his hands, feet, eyebrows, legs, stomach...he said that is probably related to the colic….and is normal. And, for the acid reflux…he said to continue on the Zantac, but Warren will soon outgrow this dosage and we might find that he no longer needs it. He said try a couple days without it and if you don't notice a difference, then he probably doesn't need it anymore. As for sleeping….he said keep him elevated for a little while after he eats, then we could probably put him in his crib. So, that's good news!
Also, his measurements….he's 11.5lbs, 22 1/4". Oddly enough….he's in the 50%tile for weight and head circumference….but, he's in the 25%tile for height…meaning, 75% of the babies are taller than he. (As Chris and I said….we'll have a 5'6" boy and a 6'7" girl)
Anyway….I think that's everything. We go back in March for his four month check up and next round of shots.
Welcome to this crazy little thing we call life. We surely learn as we go, but one thing we've learned so far...in the end, it's all about love and laughter.

day care
Today was Warren's first day of daycare at Southside Baptist. He's going for a half day today and tomorrow, then will start full time next week. Mommy, of course, bawled her eyes out....but Warren seemed to already love it. He just smiled at his new teacher, Miss Claudia. He's got his own crib, with his name above it.

our first Christmas
What a Christmas! Chris, Warren and I were asked to be the Holy family for our Christmas Eve service at church. Of course, Warren was perfect....until we started to walk down the aisle to the stage. Then he was sooo hot, he got extremely fussy. But, we made it!
Our new family had a perfect Christmas! It couldn't have been better! We all got way too many presents and ate way too much food! Warren got to finish meeting all his family...and, well, the outfit says it all.
