10 weeks to go!! Nothing major to report. We had our 30 week check-up today and started our rotations. So, today we met with Dr. Mammel. Everything checked out good, still! They didn't tell us the baby's heartbeat, but were able to listen and tell us everything was good. Blood pressure was good....everything looked right on target. Dr. Mammel measured the baby and said that that the baby is measuring right on target. YAY!
Now the bad news....we also found out that my glucose test came back a little bit high. So, October 6th, I go back for a three hour test checking for gestational diabetes.
And, just a side note....I don't know if anyone has ever had a belly button explode...but I think I may be the first. I think any day now, it's either going to become an outtie...or, it's just going to pop! I was warned about a lot of things during pregnancy, but the uncomfortableness of the belly button was not one of them!
Welcome to this crazy little thing we call life. We surely learn as we go, but one thing we've learned so far...in the end, it's all about love and laughter.

our first shower
We had our first baby shower on Tuesday. YAY!!! The staff of R. Bruce Wagner threw me (and two other pregnant women) a "Triple Shower". The other two girls are due before me, so I'm the last one of the group. One of the girls is having a girl, one is having a boy...and of course, we're having....a baby! It was incredibly thoughtful of everyone. Mom, Chris and Har all came. We received many nice gifts and gift cards to Babies 'R Us and Target...which will all come in so handy!

what a sight
We had our seven month check-up Thursday and everything is still going great! (Brace yourselves....there's seven month pictures below.) I took the gestational diabetes test, and Dr. Garas said he would call if anything were wrong...but he didn't expect any problems. The baby's heartbeat was right on target. We go back in two weeks, but now we start seeing all the doctors. We're excited...because we want to meet them all, but we really love Dr. Garas and hate to not see him. We see Dr. Mammel next on the 20th.
We also had our third childbirth class and took a tour of the maternity ward at the hospital. How cute! We can't wait to be there...but, we can't wait to be home, after being there.
And, the coolest thing....the baby now responds to light. So, Chris held a flashlight up to my stomach and, from the outside, you could see the baby move (not a kick, but like a roll over). It was so strange! And, finally....both of our moms have been able to feel the baby kick. I've been reading "Goodnight Moon" and "Runaway Bunny" to the baby at night, but last night, Chris put his lips on my belly and started talking. When he stopped, you could see the baby move again. It really is an incredible experience!
